    Good starter booklet
A pretty good starter booklet to introduce you to real estate auctions as an option for selling your house.

  • As a real estate agent, I recommend this book as a good reference to my real estate clients. Although auctions are not for everyone, it can be a very good option for some homes. To better help my clients understand what real estate auctions are about and how they may help sell their property, I have been giving them a copy of this book. Easy to read and written in an understandable consumer-friendly way, it makes auctions a lot less complicated.

  • I’m new to real estate and real estate auctions so I found this booklet (actually a short book the size of cliff notes) pretty helpful. There are sections included which I found particularly helpful such as (1) what type of properties are best suited for auctions (2) when to auction a property (3) how to choose a reliable professional real estate auctioneer. I only wished there was more on how to do auctioning on your own, but I can see why this wasn’t the focus since there is an entire profession devoted to professional auctioneering. A booklet like this is meant for the general consumer, not someone who is a professional auctioneer. People who seem to know a good amount on real estate such as the critical reviewers, and expect to learn how to conduct auctions themselves should find an auctioneering book, not this one.

Oh, by the way, I met the author at a children’s charity event, and she is the sweetest person I’ve met. I just wished this book was more technical for me, but I should’ve known it is meant for beginners with a title of “101″.

  • I posted a review recommending this booklet, but it did not show up. I cannot recommend this book enough for it started me in the right direction in selling one of my client’s homes. I am a new real estate agent working part-time and getting a graduate degree in law. So I have NO time to sit through a long real estate textbook. I needed something quick. Thank God a handy booklet like this is around. It was the right choice and saved my client time and money in deciding to auction his home. I ended up looking like a veteran agent.

A pricey pamphletBe forwarned. This is a small 38-page booklet with plenty of white space and very little content.

Auctions 101 – Not a pamphlet of any use
This is the 3rd time I’ve reviewed this pamphlet, and each time somehow the writer gets it removed.
Another reviewer Alan Saylor noted this pamphlet is disappointing and of…
